Twos

twos-1Early preschoolers (typically 2-3 years old) continue to explore the world around them. At this age, children are more mobile and enjoy discovering and inquiring about new things in their environment.

At age 2, you now have a little conversationalist! Most 2 year olds have a vocabulary of about 50 words. It is so important to continue this love of words and talking. We encourage the use of their vocabulary and continue to develop their love of twos-2language by asking questions and being patient with all of their responses. We read books and have them read to us and encourage their interaction and interpretation of their world around them.

Our teachers reinforce these age-appropriate developments through songs, finger plays, short stories, center time, and circle time. A bright, cheerful classroom encourages stimulation. Routine and structure are extremely important for this age so we make sure to incorporate both into each child’s day.
